Erard Paris

Erard Art Case Overstrung Upright Piano

A rare 1860's Erard, perhaps one of the oldest pianos in the world, but still plays excellently for its great age, as it was built by a master craftsman who played a significant role in the development and evolution of the piano. I have refaced the hammer heads, replaced the tapes, springs and felts throughout the internal action. The original ivory keys have some minor wear but are in good condition. The casing is ornate, with sculptured legs, gold carvings, a refinished brass carrier handles and each side of the piano. This piano is only suitable for a beginner due to its age, but has good response, weighted keys and a mellow rich tone, so also suitable for the occasional player who wants an eye catching heirloom. Comes with second hand stool and free delivery.
