Alison Baby Grand Piano - c1931

A good looking compact baby grand piano from the London manufacturer, Arthur Allison. These were a popular piano during the 1930's and have a reputation in the trade as being a well constructed instrument with pure mellow tone and responsive touch. Although the piano has been veneered in Mahogany, due to the natural patina, it gives an overall impression of a Walnut finish. At some time during the 1970's, it has been refinished in a polyester lacquer, giving it a very high gloss finish. The action has been cleaned and regulated, the hammers refaced and toned and is tuned to concert pitch. All the brasswork has been repolished and keys thoroughly cleaned and buffed.
