1905 C. Bechstein Model 4 Overstrung Upright Piano


A rare Walter Friedrich Cave (1863-1939) Model 4 Arts & Crafts custom built C. Bechstein Berlin. Restored rectangular walnut body with tapered conical legs on front travelling up from underside of piano to attached brass lamps. Full cast iron frame with internal under-damping. Overstrung, weighted ivory keys that are flush and white, full rounded mellow tone, renewed brass trimmings and name plate, new name board felt, fine polished casing, perfect soundboard, tight pins, tuned to Concert Pitch and ready to play. This is one of the finest examples of an Arts & Crafts C. Bechstein, considered to be one of the most reputable German makers of all time.
