Richard Lipp piano are high quality, German made pianos with a superb, rich, warm and powerful tone. Their uprights, in particular those made between 1895 and 1930 are considered to be some of the best built pianos in the world, ranking alongside Steinway, Bluthner, Bechstein and other great makers.
Below is a Richard Lipp & Sohn Stuggart (1901-1910) that we have restored with hundreds of new parts, including hammers, dampers, felts, springs etc. It has a very soft, yet powerful tone, with a potent bass register due to long, thick bass strings. The original ivory keys are in very good condition and are weighted, flush and responsive. The piano plays beautifully and is stable in Concert Pitch. The casing is French polished and the brass works are renewed. The front panel has decorative rosewood inlay and the candle holders are original. The action is fully regulated and in perfect working order. The pedals function with ease and feel good under the feet. The soundboard is large and generates a big presence and fullness of sound, similar to a full sized grand piano. This Richard Lipp is one of the finest pianos we have ever restored. Comes with matching, restored ornate stool.
